From music to broadcast: the link between the studio and live production
A musician, sound engineer and journalist, Cau Mendes is the son of the studio's founding partner, producer Junior Mendes — producer of legends such as Tim Maia and Sandra Sá, among other names of Brazilian soul music.
Managing partner of PlayRec Studios, he is one of those responsible for transforming the largest recording room in Brazil into a complete creative ecosystem — spanning from music production to high-performance live broadcasts.
A pioneer in WEB TV operation and music live streams in Brazil, he saw early on that live would be the new language of content — and structured PlayRec to speak that language fluently, from the studio to the stadium.
At the helm of Produz Sports, the live broadcast arm born from PlayRec's 30+ years of experience, he currently leads the live broadcasts of VascoTV — the official channel of Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama — and Canal GOAT in Rio de Janeiro, trusted by partners such as SporTV and CazéTV, with a fleet of three fully equipped mobile units.
Between a historic recording in Studio 1 and a championship final broadcast to millions of people, Cau's job is the same: to make sure the technology never shows — only the content.
